Gretsch Round Badge Drum Set Restoration

This White Marine Pearl 1960’s Gretsch Name Band Outfit came into my workshop in need of a complete restoration. Years of neglect had left the wrap and hardware covered in dust, the seams were lifting, and several components had developed rust. Despite its current condition, I knew that I could bring back its shine!

The restoration began with a full disassembly of each drum. The shells were thoroughly cleaned and buffed to restore their original luster, revealing the beautiful White Marine Pearl finish underneath. Each piece of hardware was hand-polished to remove oxidation and bring back its shine. To improve functionality, new felt was installed inside the hardware to eliminate spring rattle and ensure smooth, quiet operation. Finally, all of the wrap seams were carefully re-glued and secured to prevent future lifting.
